Print-it-yourself origami whale fortune teller

Make a splash in your classroom by cutting, folding and creating an adorable whale "fortune teller". All you need is scissors, glue and this free printable PDF.

Fortune tellers are fun to make and even more fun to play with. Our whale, Ola the Orca, is full of water-saving tips so we can protect our waters and be smart about how we use this precious resource.

We've included step-by-step instructions for your class below. Happy folding!

Instructions

To start, cut out the fortune teller area into a square. Then cut out the fins and flippers. To build your craft, follow these simple steps:

How to play

  1. Have a partner pick one word (Fin, Orca, Water, Whales) and open Ola’s mouth up and down and side to side as you count up the number of letters in that word (for example, Fin = 3 letters).
  2. When you stop, ask them to pick one of the four numbers shown on the open water saver.
  3. Unfold the panel with that number to reveal a water-saving tip.
